I Did a Thing!

Yup...…….So I did a thing tonight! What a way to ring in the new year- starting out a new business venture! I have become an Independent Stylist with Color Street.
So, if you know me, you know I have never done the direct sales thing; I've never even had an urge to do so. I've never believed in the process. I've never found a product I would like to sell....well, other than houses of course! ;) Then I got an invitation to join a nail bar party. "What the heck is a nail bar party?" Am I right?!? I clicked, I read and it sounded interesting to me, as I have tried other nail strips in the past. I wanted to love them, but there was always a negative that bothered me! Mostly it was how destroyed my nails were when they came off  were ripped off. So I started Googling the differences, Pinteresting the differences, and YouTubing the differences. My research pointed to try them! I mean, it was almost Christmas time and who can resist these cute holiday nails???

Or these?
Oh trust me, I could go on!

Now- I'm a mommy- a Property Mommy, I'm a wife, and confessions, I'm a nail biter!! Eek, I know! All of these make me cringe when I think of "doing my nails". I put on polish, and someone's behind will inevitably need immediate wiping! I put on polish, and some cup will need to be washed for more milk! I put on polish, and in a day the polish has been unknowingly bitten off! I don't have time for regular visits to the nail salon, either....so, I leave my nails bare and boring.

So this online nail bar spoke to me, calling for me to request a free sample. I (im)patiently waited to get my twosie, and was happy to see a glittery aqua, aqua, silver and purple sample in my son's mailbox. I researched for another day or two how to apply, and I finally took the plunge and applied a sample strip to 3 of my nails on Christmas eve. My right pointer- a high traffic finger, and then my left ring and pinky fingers for a cute set of accents. I painted my other nails with some different polishes, and went on my wrapping, cooking, Elf-moving, Mommy way! I didn't think about them again until the following night, when I finally got to sit and relax, and noticed the polished nails weren't so polished!

Can you tell which 2 are Color Street nail strips?

This pic shows 3 days later.

And finally, the difference that …. well, made the difference!

Full disclosure, I had actually redone the left pointer once between Christmas and NYE, so this was technically 3 days of polish, versus 7 days of Color Street.

So there you have it. Long story-long. And now I get to share these awesome nail strips with others!
Looking forward to a new adventure in this 2019!!!

I'll still be selling homes in Paradise, of course.... and I got a Cricut, too! So look out for some fun posts, ideas, and freebies this year!

A New (School) Year Resolution!

So, today was the first day of school in "these here parts", and unlike most parents that are jumping for joy on this very day, for me it means back to work and more traffic! That has been the case now for 11 school years. I am a pediatric occupational therapist (by training) and have spent my days working with elementary school kiddos with a varying mixture of special needs. But.......this blog isn't about that! While I have loved each one of those kiddos, I am embarking on a new journey this first day of school. I am still a working OT, but I have recently gained licensure as a real estate salesperson. The new journey looks to be an adventure as I join my hubby in real estate. I have been his assistant/helper/secretary/editor/etc., but now we are working as partners in: The Ober Team. Our two little ones, big Sister & little Brother, will now carry the jobs of assistant and helper- but I think I'll keep the secretary & editor hats for myself!

I will be writing weekly about being a new real estate agent, working as a husband and wife team, and/or the daily trials and joys of being a mom to a preschooler and a baby. (As we speak Sister is STILL awake, complaining that she needs to change her nightgown; who knows why!) Bedtime was 1.5 hrs ago, by the way! Oh, and now the baby is crying after only being asleep for 30 minutes.........but, he's sick, so he gets an out.

I guess that ends my first blog post. Time to go be the Mommy again!

Thanks for reading, and I look forward to rambling on to sharing with you next time! :P
